Double retrograde atrial response after radiofrequency ablation of typical AV nodal reentrant tachycardia.

چکیده
A double ventricular response resulting from a single atrial depolarization conducting down dual atrioventricular (AV) nodal pathways has been pt^viously well characterized.' "̂ However, a double atrial response as a result of a single ventricular depolarization conducting across dual retrograde AV nodal pathways has not been well described.^'' This case report describes a patient in whom a single ventricular depolarization resulted in a double atrial response and tbe initiation of atypical AV nodal reentiTUit tachycardia after successful radiofrequency ablation of typical AV nodal tieentrant tachycardia using the slow pathway approach.

Selective radiofrequency ablation of the slow pathway for the treatment of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia. Evidence for involvement of perinodal myocardium within the reentrant circuit.
BACKGROUND The circuit of atrioventricular (AV) nodal reentrant tachycardia may include perinodal atrial myocardium. Furthermore, in patients with dual AV nodal pathways, the atrial insertion of the slow pathway is likely to be located near the ostium of the coronary sinus, caudal to the expected location of the AV node. The present study was designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of sele...
متن کاملConversion of typical to "atypical" atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia after radiofrequency catheter modification of the atrioventricular junction.
Typical atrioventricular (AV) nodal reentry tachycardia (AVNRT) is characterized by anterograde activation over a slowly conducting pathway and by retrograde activation through a rapidly conducting pathway. Preliminary reports suggest that radiofrequency catheter modification can eliminate typical AVNRT while preserving anterograde conduction. Radiofrequency catheter modification was used to tr...

متن کاملIncidence, significance, and pharmacological responses of catheter-induced mechanical trauma in patients receiving radiofrequency ablation for supraventricular tachycardia.
BACKGROUND Catheter-induced mechanical trauma is unfavorable during electrophysiological study. However, its incidence, significance, and pharmacological responses in patients receiving radiofrequency ablation for supraventricular tachycardia have not been investigated. METHODS AND RESULTS A prospective study was performed in 666 consecutive patients with documented, symptomatic supraventricu...
متن کاملRadiofrequency catheter ablation of atypical atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia.
INTRODUCTION Published reports of radiofrequency ablation of atypical atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) have been limited. We present our experience in 10 consecutive patients with atypical AVNRT who underwent radiofrequency ablation of the "slow" AV nodal pathway. METHODS AND RESULTS There were 9 females and 1 male; their mean age was 44 +/- 19 years (+/- SD). The mean AVN...
